The kick-off meeting of the MPV project – Moving People in Volunteering, co-founded by the Erasmus+ programme (Key Action 2, Capacity building in the youth of the field ) took place at CESIE from 11th to 15th of April. The partnership composed by 6 countries, Hungary, Vietnam, Italy, Nepal, Kenya and France discussed and started to plan the activities foreseen by the project.
The project aims at building on the exchange of experience and best practices regards the volunteers’ handling at each organization, offering innovative tools and methods for youth work focused on development of knowledge and competences on how to involve and empower youngsters with fewer opportunities through volunteering. In this process, all partner organizations gain competences on volunteers’ management, while participants acquire a series of soft skills which will render them more employable offering to them a useful experience in various situations, both personal and professional.
The 13th of April CESIE organized a Conference on development through volunteering in which there were the partners’ project, EVS volunteers, mentor and representatives from local centres that work with local and international volunteers.
During the conference, participants discussed focusing on the importance of volunteering both in the local organisations and for the volunteers that during and after a local or international volunteering can gain competences and skills in an informal way.
The next step is a training course that will take place in Palermo in which 36 youth workers will be involved. After this TC, the participants will be the mentor of the EVS volunteers, seen the project foresees an EVS mobility for 12 young people for 6 months in each partner country.
